Leeds Hackspace was officially incorporated in 2009 and is a group aiming to provide Leeds with a permanent not-for-profit hackspace. If you’re unsure about what to expect form hackspaces in general, http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Hackerspaces is a great introduction to them.
Our current directors are:
Companies House/HMRC Liaison – Fligg
Without Portfolio – Joe
Without Portfolio – Paul

We have recently secured a bigger, better workshop and event space in the heart of Leeds (http://leedshackspace.org.uk/2012/05/05/lhs-2-0-is-a-reality/) and are in the process of getting this new location up and running.
Our members come from a range of backgrounds, have differing levels of experience and are interested in everything from woodworking to programming to robots with lasers. The hackspace gives us a shared workshop to develop our skills, collaborate on projects and be more active in our community.
We currently meet on Tuesday evenings in our new space to discuss projects, share ideas and socialise – anyone is welcome to join us. Leeds Hackspace will soon be open most weekday nights and weekends for members to visit and hosts regular events for both members and the general public.
